Green radish cultivation methods and precautions

Green radish cultivation methods and precautions

Green radish can be placed in any corner of the home, including the bathroom and living room. It can be grown in a fish tank or planted in a flower pot. The green ivy remains lush and green all year round, has many aerial roots, and is a climbing herb. Let’s learn the cultivation methods and precautions of green radish below.

1. Astigmatism environment

Pothos is a shade-tolerant plant, so it does not need to be moved as frequently as roses or succulents when caring for it. It can be placed in the same location almost all year round, such as in the shade or semi-shade of a balcony, or in a bright place with diffuse light next to the floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room, and it can still grow vigorously.

2. Fertile Soil

Pothos grows quickly, especially in spring and summer when the temperature is high, and prefers fertile, loose and well-drained soil. When repotting the soil, you can use a mixture of leaf mold, garden soil and river sand, or a combination of leaf mold, sand and perlite , of which leaf mold should account for a larger proportion, at least more than half. Pothos likes fertilizer and needs to be fertilized appropriately during the growing period. If there is insufficient fertilizer and lack of nitrogen fertilizer, the leaves will be smaller, the stems will be thinner and weaker, and the climbing speed will be slow, making it difficult to form a beautiful and lush plant shape. As long as there is enough fertilizer and the temperature is suitable, the green radish will grow rapidly, with many vines, many new branches and new leaves, and dark green leaves. By using transparent tape to fix the branches to the wall or other methods to allow it to climb, the green ivy can cover an entire wall, creating a green and vibrant scene.

3. Warm environment

Pothos likes warm and humid environment and is not cold-resistant. Sometimes, a well-growth green radish may get frozen if you forget to move it indoors when the temperature drops in autumn and winter, causing its green leaves to wilt and become unable to recover. Therefore, it is suitable to place the green radish in a warm place indoors during the winter, and it is better to give it appropriate amount of light. At a temperature of about 10℃, an environment with sufficient light is very suitable for the green radish to overwinter, and it must be kept at least above 3℃. When the temperature is low in winter, you can reduce watering, and when the temperature is high, you can water appropriately at noon. But if there is air conditioning in the room, do not place the green radish near the air outlet of the air conditioner. With this kind of care, the green radish can survive the winter smoothly and become more vigorous year by year.

In summary, the soil requirements of Chlorophytum cochinchinensis are not high, but fertile, loose and well-drained soil is preferred. You can choose leaf mold, garden soil and river sand and mix them in a certain proportion.
