How long does it take for hyacinth to bloom?

Hyacinth bulbs can usually bloom in the year they are planted, but if the bulbs are produced by division, it will take three years before they have a chance to bloom.

It grows best in an environment between 15 and 25 degrees. It usually takes 4 to 5 months of growth before it can enter the flowering period . While waiting for flowering, special attention should be paid to the various changes in the roots, stems and leaves of hyacinth to avoid affecting the quality and quantity of subsequent flowering.

Hyacinth flowering process

The growth process of hyacinth can be divided into three stages:

The first stage: soak a small part of its roots in water at room temperature, and small buds will sprout in about half a month;

The second stage: it will grow more leaves, and after a month, it will gradually grow light green buds with a thicker protective layer outside.

The third stage: In another half a month, it will bloom flowers of different colors.

Hyacinth flowering time

Hyacinths bloom at different times due to different varieties and origins. In the north it is generally from January to February, while in the south it blooms from February to March and continues to bloom until April to May, when the flowering period gradually ends. The flowering period can last for about half a month in total.
