How to water the gourd

How to water the gourd

Importance of watering for gourds

The growth rate and fruit size of gourd are closely related to water. Drought and water shortage will cause the gourd to be small in size and grow slowly. Adequate water supply can also effectively prevent the cracking of the surface cortex of the gourd, thus affecting its appearance.

How to water the gourd

Because gourds are plants that will die in the first year of planting, and the time from sowing to drying up is not long, there is no division into four seasons in watering methods. What I will share with you next is the watering management method during the growing period of gourds.

Gourd is a water-loving plant. During the seedling stage after the seeds planted in the flowerpot germinate, flower lovers need to replenish water diligently. The seedlings, which are in the period of accelerated growth, will absorb most of the water. Only continuous water replenishment can make the stems and leaves of the gourd strong, and produce more flowers and more fruits.

During the flowering period of gourd, even if you like water, you must reduce the frequency of watering in time. Gourd is not suitable for watering at this time. Once there is too much water, it will directly affect the number of flowers. In order to increase the fruit set rate, you should reduce watering at this time.

After the flowering period, the small gourds begin to grow vigorously. I guess you can guess without me saying that water needs to be added at this time. The golden period for gourd growth is summer. In an environment with strong evaporation and high temperature, you need to water it once in the morning and evening, and at least water it once every evening. In this way, the gourds grown will not only be large but also juicy.
