There are many ways to propagate mint. When growing it at home, you can choose mint seeds for planting. Although mint seeds are small, as long as the germination method is correct and you choose a well-ventilated clay pot and sandy soil, you can basically plant it successfully. How to grow mint1. Seed germination Wash the mint seeds you bought with clean water, soak them in warm water at 40 to 45 degrees for about 5 hours to allow the seeds to absorb enough water, then place the seeds in a foam box and ensure that the temperature is between 18 and 25 degrees. Place the foam box in a semi-shaded environment and cover it with a layer of moist gauze. The seeds will germinate in about 3 weeks. 2. Pot soil treatment Choose a clay flowerpot with good air permeability, and use sandy soil with strong water-holding ability and air permeability. Before planting, place the potting soil in the sun for about 3 days to kill the bacteria and parasites inside. Then put the soil in the clay flowerpot, water it appropriately, and loosen the soil. 3. Planting Place the germinated mint seedlings on the soil surface. Don't place them too close together, leave a distance of 20 cm between them. After planting, sprinkle a layer of planting soil on the seedlings, about 3 cm. Then water the seedlings in small amounts to keep the breeding soil moist at all times. Place them in a semi-shaded environment with plenty of sunlight. Points to note when planting mint1. Temperature: Mint has strong vitality and can germinate in an environment of 5 degrees. It can grow in a low temperature environment of -15 degrees, but it is best to provide a warmer environment. The most suitable temperature for mint growth is between 20 and 30 degrees, which is beneficial to its growth. 2. Water: Mint has a relatively large demand for water, so the soil should be kept moist during cultivation. Of course, if you forget to water it, you can replenish the mint with water in time after discovering it, and the mint can be revived. 3. Light: Mint likes light, so you must ensure that it receives enough light when growing it. You can place it directly in the sun to receive direct sunlight. Lack of light will cause the leaves of the mint plant to become thin and malnourished. |
