What kind of crop is millet

The original meaning of millet refers to the fruit of cereals. It is a local crop in my country and one of the oldest cultivated crops in the world. It has high nutritional value and is nutritionally comprehensive and balanced, mainly containing carbohydrates, proteins, amino acids and other substances.

What is millet?

Millet, also known as millet, is an annual herbaceous plant of the genus Setaria in the Poaceae family. Its growth cycle is about 80-130 days. It is drought-resistant and barren-resistant, and is easy to store. It has low requirements for soil and can be planted in clay or sandy soil. However, if you want high yield and good quality, it is best to choose fertile soil to meet its requirements for light and nutrients.

Appearance and characteristics of millet

Millet has very thick roots, its stems are upright and strong, and its inflorescence is cylindrical, usually appearing drooping. It is mainly divided into two types: glutinous millet and japonica millet. Its grains are relatively small, most of which are light yellow in color and have a relatively hard texture. It is often used to make millet porridge.

Its leaves are glabrous, with dense cilia on the edges, and the leaves are long lanceolate or linear lanceolate, with a relatively rough texture on the upper side and smooth on the lower side. In addition, the husks of millet are mainly yellow, white, and brown.
