Screw pepper planting method and time cultivation technology and conditions

The best time to plant screw peppers

The planting time of screw pepper varies in different regions. Generally speaking, there are two planting times. One is that the overwintering crop can be planted in late August to early September, and the initial harvest will be in November. The seedlings can be pulled out at the end of June of the following year. The other is that the early spring crop can be planted in late February to early April.

Screw pepper planting methods and key points

1. Select seeds : The seeds of screw pepper must be yellow or light yellow, without any mold or spots. Secondly, you should choose seeds with a high fruiting rate, so that you can distinguish the quality of screw peppers through trial planting, remove the bad ones, and keep the seeds with strong disease resistance and high fruiting rate.

2. Land preparation : First, apply enough manure to the soil as base fertilizer. You can apply high-quality chicken manure and cow manure. Since the root system of screw pepper is relatively strong, the soil should be plowed to a depth of more than 25 cm so that the manure and soil can be fully mixed together.

Points to note in daily management of screw pepper

The screw pepper should be watered thoroughly the day before transplanting, and more perennial soil should be added to prevent damage to the roots of the pepper seedlings. On rainy days, the water should be drained in time to prevent the screw pepper from being waterlogged.

Although screw pepper is a light-loving plant, its growth demand for light is not high, and the light demand is different at different growth stages. For example, in the seedling stage, the light intensity should be weak, otherwise the seedling leaves will be thin and the disease resistance will be poor. On the contrary, if the light intensity is good during the seedling stage, the color of the leaves will be very dark and the disease resistance will be enhanced.
