Suitable planting time for long beans

Long beans are generally planted in greenhouses and can be planted all year round. Before planting long beans, the planting time can be reasonably arranged according to the different regional temperatures. Under normal circumstances, spring planting is around February-March, summer planting is generally from May to August, and autumn planting is generally from August to October.

Long bean planting methods and key points

1. Select the site and apply fertilizer

Long beans have a strong ability to adapt to the environment and can be planted in any soil. If you want a high yield, it is recommended to choose relatively fertile soil for planting. After selecting the planting site, you can prepare the land. When preparing the land, you can spread an appropriate amount of fertilizer and try to dig deeper to ensure the fertility of the soil.

2. Sowing method

On the prepared land, dig holes at a certain distance, sprinkle 3-5 seeds in each hole, apply fertilizer around it and then cover it with soil. Be careful not to touch the seeds when applying fertilizer to avoid burning the seeds and reducing the germination rate. You can also choose to sow the seeds in the soil.

Then cover it with a layer of film, and remove the film after the seeds germinate. Remember to water it appropriately. When the seedlings grow to 5-6 cm, they can be transplanted reasonably. After transplanting, they need to be watered in time, otherwise the bean seedlings will wither and die.

Key points for daily management of long beans

Bean pod borer and cowpea pod borer are the main pests of long beans. It is important to note that the incidence rate of long beans is relatively low, and root rot may occur occasionally. If symptoms are found, they must be treated in time, and targeted pesticides can be selected for prevention and control.
