How to grow a fortune tree

How to grow a fortune tree

1. Breeding environment

1. Flower soil. If you want to grow a money tree well, you need to use soft, breathable, nutrient-rich, well-drained, slightly acidic flower soil. Never use alkaline flower soil.

2. Temperature. The temperature should be maintained above 20℃ at ordinary times and should not be lower than 5℃ in winter.

3. Light. If it is grown indoors, try to avoid direct sunlight, otherwise it will get sunburned. If it is cultivated outdoors, it can accept full sunlight, but in summer, it is necessary to pay attention to proper shade.

4. Water. The money tree is very afraid of waterlogging. Usually, you should wait until the soil is dry before watering it. When watering, you should water it sparingly. Never water it too much, which will cause waterlogging in the soil.

2. Breeding Methods

1. Propagation by seeds. When the fruits of the money tree are ripe, use a tool to cut the seed coat, then take out the seeds and sow them immediately after picking. When sowing, you can use plain sand to evenly spread the seeds on the soil surface, and be careful to maintain a certain seed spacing of about 10 cm. Then cover with a thin layer of sand, 3-4 cm thick. Finally, water it thoroughly and place it in a semi-shaded place at about 25℃. It will germinate after 7-10 days.

2. Propagation by cuttings. Cut healthy and disease-free branches from mature plants, insert them into the soil, and then water them thoroughly. Cover it with a layer of insulation film and it will sprout after half a month.

3. Common pests and diseases

1. Root rot. If the roots and stems of the money tree become soft and rotten, it may have this disease. We need to take it out of the pot, cut off the rotten black roots, apply medicine to disinfect it, dry it, and then plant it in new flower soil without bacteria.

2. Scale insects. If there are only a few scale insects on the money tree, you can remove them by hand or brush them off with a discarded toothbrush, then cut off the diseased leaves and spray them with pesticides for disinfection. If there are a large number of scale insects, you need to spray them directly to kill them.

3. Leaf blight. If the leaves of the money tree dry up, it may have this disease. We need to remove the diseased leaves in time, and then water and fertilize scientifically.
