How often should I water the pennywort?

In spring and autumn, it is generally necessary to water the pennywort twice a week. When the temperature is high in summer, its demand for water will decrease, and it only needs to be watered once every three days or so. When the temperature drops in winter, you must pay attention to water control and keep the soil slightly dry.

The correct way to water the pennywort

1. Control the amount of water for the catnip in winter, and water it more in summer. The amount of water should be 1-2 times that of spring and autumn. However, after summer, you have to wait until the leaves wilt before continuing to water it, otherwise it will easily grow too tall.

2. When watering the catnip, you must be timely. If you wait until the soil surface is dry for 2 to 3 days before watering, the tender green leaves will turn yellow and even fall off in severe cases.

Too much watering of pennywort

Watering the catnip too much may cause waterlogging in the potting soil, and its roots may not be able to breathe normally and are prone to rot. Poor absorption of nutrients will cause its leaves to turn yellow.

At this time, you need to stop watering the plants immediately, loosen the soil on a large scale, ensure ventilation, and accelerate the evaporation of water. If the problem is serious, you can remove the pot and dry it in a cool place, then repot or re-mix the soil, being careful not to damage the roots of the plants.
