Peanut planting and harvesting time

Peanut planting and harvesting time

Peanut planting time

The peanut sowing time is different depending on the temperature in the north and south. The south is sown around mid-to-early March, while the north has to wait until mid-to-early May.

Peanut harvest time

The harvest time of peanuts is generally from August to October. The harvest time varies depending on the sowing time. The harvest time of spring peanuts is between mid-August and early September, and the harvest time of summer peanuts is between late September and early October.

Key points for high-yield peanut planting

1. Land preparation

Before planting peanuts, you need to choose suitable soil. It is recommended to choose a plot with deep, loose, fertile soil and higher terrain. Do not choose a place where water easily accumulates. Deeply plow the soil before sowing and apply sufficient organic fertilizer as base fertilizer.

2. Planting

Before sowing peanut seeds, you can put them in the sun for two days, so that they can germinate better. Then you can plant them in ridges. The ridges should be ten centimeters high and about 80 centimeters apart. The distance between two peanuts should be about 20 centimeters.

3. Post-management

In addition to the base fertilizer mentioned above, top dressing should also be applied regularly to increase the yield of peanuts. Generally speaking, when it just blooms and when it pods, the demand for phosphorus and potassium will be relatively high. Of course, some other trace elements, such as iron, boron, calcium, etc. are also very important. It is recommended to supplement them according to the situation.

When watering, you need to pay attention to the time. Water a little less during the seedling period. When it starts to grow pods, be sure to replenish water in time. In addition, you must also pay attention to the prevention and control of peanut diseases and pests, especially underground pests, and harvest in time according to the peanut growth conditions and weather conditions.
