How to propagate rainbow succulents? Leaf cutting propagation time and method

Rainbow succulent breeding method

The rainbow succulent is propagated in the same way as most succulents, which is by leaf cuttings. Cut a leaf from the plant, dry the wound, and then insert it obliquely into the soil. During this period, the soil needs to be kept moist and it should be placed in a semi-shaded and warm place for maintenance.

Rainbow succulent leaf cutting propagation method

1. Cut leaves

Rainbow succulents are usually propagated by leaf cuttings. First, you need to cut a complete leaf from the plant, and then place the leaf in a cool place to dry the wound. If you directly propagate the cuttings without drying them, it will easily cause the leaves to rot.

2. Take cuttings

After cutting the leaves, you need to prepare loose, breathable, and well-drained soil, and water it appropriately to keep the soil moist. Then you can insert it obliquely into the soil so that the wound slightly touches the substrate.

3. Maintenance and management

After leaf cuttings of the rainbow succulent, it needs to be properly cared for and managed. It is best to place it in a place without direct sunlight to avoid withering of the leaves. It prefers a warm growing environment, so it is best to do cuttings in spring and autumn.

4. Planting and maintenance

After the rainbow succulent has taken root from leaf cuttings, it needs timely transplanting and maintenance. You can use coal slag mixed with soil, add a small amount of perlite to mix the mixture, and then plant it in the soil. After growing for a period of time, you can maintain it normally according to its growth habits.
