Industrial hemp cultivation conditionsPlanting marijuana is illegal in our country, but industrial hemp can be grown in Yunnan. It is best to provide sandy loam with deep soil, loose soil and fertile soil. Sticky soil has poor drainage and will cause water accumulation and root rot. The available varieties are Yunma No. 1 and Yunma No. 7. Industrial hemp growing environment1. Temperature Industrial hemp prefers a warm environment and is relatively cold-resistant. It can usually germinate when the soil temperature is around 1 degree, but in order for the seedlings to emerge evenly, it is generally suitable to be sown when the soil temperature is 8-10 degrees. At a low temperature of -5 degrees, its growth will be delayed. Industrial hemp for seeds prefers cold weather, and a large temperature difference between day and night is conducive to improving the yield and quality of hemp seeds. 2. Lighting Industrial hemp prefers an environment with plenty of sunlight and is a short-day crop. Under sufficient light, the plants grow vigorously, the fiber yield is high, and the grains mature early. However, the light time must be controlled. If it is too long or too short, it will lead to a decrease in yield. 3. Moisture Industrial hemp is relatively sensitive to water and requires 500-700 mm of precipitation throughout its entire growth period. Soil moisture should be high during the rapid growth period. When the soil moisture is 70% to 80% of the soil's field water holding capacity, it will achieve best growth and development, which is beneficial to increasing fiber yield. Industrial hemp cultivation methods1. Variety selection The industrial hemp varieties commonly grown on the market now are "Yunma No. 1" and the newly launched "Yunma No. 7", among which Yunma No. 7 has a higher content of medicinal ingredients and a higher yield. 2. Soil selection Industrial hemp is best planted in sandy loam with deep soil, looseness, fertility and good drainage. It is not tolerant to waterlogging and should not be planted in soil with poor drainage. If waterlogging occurs, it will lead to poor germination of industrial hemp, root rot and premature death. 3. Land preparation Industrial hemp is a main root crop, and most of its fibrous roots are distributed in the 20-30 cm soil layer. Therefore, deep plowing should be carried out in advance to enhance the soil's ability to retain water and fertilizer and meet the needs of root development. Land preparation in advance is also conducive to uniform emergence of seedlings. 4. Planting seeds Generally, sowing is done from mid-April to mid-May, which is the same as the local corn sowing period. Drainage ditches are set up in advance, and open pond sowing is adopted with row spacing of 80-100 cm, 20 cm wide surface, 50-60 cm pond spacing, 5-7 seeds are sown in each pond. When sowing, seeds and fertilizers are properly separated, and the sowing depth should be 3-4 cm. |
