Turn Christmas cactus into a 2-meter-high tree and grow sunflower into an old stump, all with just one trick!

Grafted Christmas cactus turns into a waterfall of flowers!

Many people grow Christmas cactus at home, but its root system is relatively weak. It is easy to rot if there is too much water in the summer, and its ability to absorb nutrients is also poor. If it is grafted, these problems can be solved! As long as the temperature is above 15 degrees, it can be done!

How to graft Christmas cactus?

1. Prepare a small knife and disinfect it with a lighter and alcohol so that the grafted wound will not easily become infected or rotten.

2. There are many rootstocks to choose from for Christmas cactus grafting, such as the dragon god tree, three-edged arrow, cactus, general column, leaf fairy, etc. Flower lovers can choose according to their own situation.

3. This time we chose to use leaf fairy as the rootstock. After grafting with leaf fairy, it adapts quickly and is resistant to waterlogging and drought. First, remove some of the leaves of the hibiscus.

4. Use a blade to cut diagonally at the position where the leaves were cut off, making a cut about 1 cm deep.

5. Then select some sturdy Christmas cactus leaves and cut them into small sections, with 2 to 3 leaves in each section.

6. Use a knife to cut an oblique cut at the bottom, about 1 cm in length.

7. Put the peeled Christmas cactus leaves into the cut of the leaf fairy, fix them with small clips, and remove them after 3 days. Depending on personal preference, you can graft multiple layers or a single layer.

8. The branches of the leaf fairy are relatively soft, so remember to use wooden sticks or flower racks to assist their growth after grafting.

9. After grafting Christmas cactus, water less. Wait for 10 to 15 days. If the leaves are green and not wilted, it means it is successful. At this time, you can water and maintain it normally.

Grafting sunflowers and turning them into old trees can survive the winter!

The sunflower is also called the immortal flower. There is no need to tell you how easy it is to grow. But have you ever seen an old sunflower? It can be done by just grafting. Not only can it survive the winter but it can also grow for many years!

How to graft sunflowers?

1. For sunflower grafting, you should choose perennial sunflowers. Select a sunflower with relatively developed roots as the rootstock and cut off its branches.

2. Choose a few beautifully colored sunflowers and cut off branches of different colors.

3. Use a knife to make an oblique cut at the end of the branch. Because sunflowers are relatively hardy, they can survive grafting without disinfection.

4. Make a cut on the branch that will serve as the rootstock and insert the scion sunflower into it.

5. Use a thin rope to wrap several times around the interface to secure it, or you can use a clip with smaller clamping force.

6. After all connections are completed, the status will be as shown in the picture below. Sunflowers heal quickly and the ropes can be removed after a few days.

7. Get more sun exposure every day, and you will soon have a pot of colorful sunflowers. Use a flower stand to help, so the flowers will be more neat and look better!

Bougainvillea is grafted to produce five colors of flowers!

Bougainvillea has bright colors and a variety of varieties. If grafted, the bougainvillea will grow stronger and have a variety of colors!

How to graft Bougainvillea?

1. It is best to choose semi-lignified branches for scion grafting, and cut them diagonally with a sharp knife.

2. It is best to choose a purple bougainvillea that has grown for many years and is relatively sturdy. Use a knife to cut the rootstock into the shape shown in the picture below.

3. The tighter the combination of scion and rootstock, the higher the survival rate.

4. Wrap the joint with plastic wrap or film all the way to the top of the scion. Place the grafted bougainvillea in a warm place for maintenance, preferably with a temperature above 20 degrees.

5. After about 10 to 15 days, the new sprouts will break through the film and come out. The film can be removed in about 20 days.

6. You can resume normal maintenance after one month, and when the flowering season comes, you will get a pot of colorful bougainvillea!
