Planting time of baby's breath

The planting of baby's breath is usually done by sowing, which is carried out from February to May in spring or from August to October in autumn. The climate and temperature during this period are more suitable. After sowing, the seedlings can be promoted as soon as possible, and management is also more convenient.

Gypsophila planting method

1. Prepare the soil

Baby's breath has strong adaptability to soil, but in order to promote its vigorous growth, it is recommended to use loose, breathable, and well-drained soil to promote later growth. If it is potted, you can mix garden soil, humus soil and coarse sand. The prepared soil must be disinfected before it can be planted to avoid seed infection by pests and diseases.

2. Seed selection and germination

Choose healthy and plump seeds. It is best to germinate them before sowing, so that the germination rate will be higher. First, soak the seeds in warm water for 8-10 hours. After taking them out, place the seeds on a wet towel to germinate. Germination will only take one day.

3. Sowing method

After the seeds are germinated and the soil is prepared, they can be sown. The sowing method is very simple. Sprinkle the baby's breath seeds evenly on the soil surface and then cover them with a thin layer of soil. After planting, water them in time to make the soil moist and allow the seeds to absorb water.

Precautions for planting baby's breath

After planting baby's breath, you need to provide a warm, well-ventilated and humid environment. The temperature should be maintained between 15 and 20℃. When the soil is dry, you need to spray water frequently. If the environment is suitable, it will sprout in about 10 days. After the baby's breath seedlings grow out, you need to slowly increase the light and expose them to more sunlight to promote vigorous growth of the seedlings.
