Plant characteristics

We can also conclude from the latitude and altitude of its main location that this plant prefers a humid and cold environment. In addition, it has strong adaptability and can grow in places with good or poor drainage, and can be combined with different plants to form different forests. Also, it is shade tolerant.

Specific methods

Soil: We have said above that depending on the drainage, it will form different forests with different plants. Let’s introduce it in detail below. If it is on a low slope with good drainage performance, it will form a mixed forest with coniferous or broad-leaved tree species such as red pine and poplar. If it is a poorly drained hilly area, it will form a small pure forest together with some smaller and slower growing tree species. Then, the control of soil conditions depends on our needs.

Light: Although we say that this plant is shade-tolerant and cannot be given too strong light, it is definitely not acceptable to have no light at all. Experiments show that a shading rate of more than 85% will affect the normal growth of plants, so what we need to do is control the appropriate shading intensity.

Sowing: We usually carry out this process in mid-May or late May. In addition, the ground temperature should be kept between eight and ten degrees Celsius at this time. Five to six days after sowing, the seeds will begin to germinate and will emerge in about a week. Then we can give appropriate shading measures.

Precautions

If the seeds do not germinate after sowing, you can use the sand mixing method to germinate them, which will greatly increase the chance of germination.
