Garlic planting time in the south

Garlic in the south can be planted in spring or autumn. In spring, it is usually planted in March and April, and in autumn, it is sown between September and October. Autumn sowing is usually the main method because the climate at that time is most suitable for growth and seedlings can emerge faster.

Southern garlic planting method

1. Select garlic cloves: There are many varieties of garlic, so you can choose a more favorable variety. Choose garlic with larger size and better color. Take the undamaged garlic cloves as seeds and dry them in the sun for 1-2 days to increase the germination rate.

2. Planting soil: When planting garlic, you need to choose a sunny, sheltered, and well-drained place. Before sowing, you need to remove weeds, deeply plow the soil, and apply enough base fertilizer.

3. Sowing: When sowing garlic, you need to dig a deep trench according to a certain row spacing, and then plant the garlic cloves in the soil, keeping them upright, cover them with a 3 cm thick layer of soil, and water them enough.

Precautions for planting garlic in the south

During the growth period of garlic, you must pay attention to the fact that it has a relatively large demand for water. It needs to be watered regularly throughout the growth period, and it needs to be cultivated and weeded many times, and pest and disease prevention work should be done well, so that it can grow well.
