When is the best time to sow hydrangea seeds?

Hydrangea seed sowing time

Hydrangeas are usually sown in spring or autumn. The specific sowing time is different in each region because the temperature is different, but most of them are around March to May in spring, and August to October in autumn. Try to avoid sowing in summer and winter.

Hydrangea seed planting method and steps

1. Potting soil: When sowing hydrangea seeds, you need suitable flower pots and soil. It prefers to grow in loose, breathable, fertilizer-retaining and water-retaining soil, so usually leaf mold, garden soil and vinegar residue are mixed together, and the flower pots used must have a certain degree of air permeability.

2. Seeds: Because hydrangea seeds are relatively small, you must be careful when selecting seeds and not lose them. You need to choose healthier and fuller seeds so that the germination rate will be higher after planting.

3. Sowing: When sowing, you need to fill the soil into the flowerpot to a depth of about two-thirds, and it must be disinfected. After that, you can sow the seeds on the soil, cover it with a thin layer of soil, and then water it appropriately.

4. Germination: After sowing, hydrangea seeds need to be placed in a well-ventilated place. Roots will grow in about half a month, and then they can be transplanted when 3-5 leaves grow.
