The newly bought gardenia always turns yellow? Learn one trick, and in 3 days the yellow leaves will turn green and the flowers will bloom!

I just bought a gardenia, but its leaves are drooping. What should I do?

The leaves of the gardenias that have just been bought home often droop, especially those of the large-leaf gardenias.

1. Low humidity. Many gardenias in the flower market are grown in greenhouses. The air humidity in the greenhouses is very high, while the humidity at home is generally lower and the temperature is dry, which will cause the leaves to droop.

2. Weak root system. The leaves, new leaves and flower buds of the gardenia that you just brought home have a great demand for water, but the air humidity at home is low, which causes the gardenia to only get enough water from the roots, increasing the burden on the roots. The young leaves and flower buds wilt first, and then the entire leaf wilts.

Solution:

1. If the leaves of the gardenia you just bought are drooping, water it using the immersion method. At the same time, find a plastic bag to cover the entire gardenia and place it in a place with bright diffuse light. At noon every day when the temperature is high, open the plastic bag to let it breathe, and remove the bag when the leaves are firm.

2. If flower lovers find it too troublesome to put the flower in a bag, they can put it in the bathroom. Raise the gardenia pot with rocks or something else, then sprinkle water around the pot to increase the humidity in the air.

I just bought a gardenia, and its leaves turned yellow due to improper watering. What should I do?

If you find that the old leaves of the gardenia you just bought home are starting to turn yellow, the veins are green, and then the entire leaves slowly turn yellow, it is caused by improper watering.

1. The temperature suddenly drops or there is no ventilation after watering. If there is a sudden cold wind after watering, or if the room is too closed and the ventilation conditions are poor, the leaves of the gardenia will turn yellow.

2. The branches and leaves on the bottom layer are too dense, affecting the air permeability of the potting soil. If the bottom branches and leaves of the gardenia are too dense, it will affect the air permeability of the flowerpot and cause the leaves to turn yellow over time.

Solution:

1. Ventilate in time. If the roots rot due to excessive watering, stop watering the gardenia. Place the gardenia in a cool and ventilated place indoors to allow the water in the pot to evaporate as quickly as possible. If the soil in the pot is loess and it is a plastic pot, just squeeze the pot with your hands to loosen the soil.

2. If the root rot is caused by too much water in a purple clay pot or ceramic pot, then remove the gardenia from the pot, clean the soil on the roots, place it in a cool place to dry the roots, and then put it back in the pot.

How to avoid yellow leaves of the gardenia you just bought?

1. If the gardenia you just bought is in a plastic pot with yellow soil, don’t change the pot for the time being. After buying it home, first clean up the dead branches and leaves accumulated on the surface of the potting soil. Those old leaves close to the surface of the potting soil and the weak branches in the inner layer that cannot get sunlight should also be cut off.

2. Because gardenia flowers bloom at the top, all the weak buds except those that grow healthily should be removed, leaving no single one.

3. Place the gardenia in the bathroom, put broken tiles or something like that at the bottom of the pot, and then spray water around the pot frequently to ensure that the soil and surrounding air are moist. Do not let water get on the buds. It will take about a week for the gardenia to recover and adapt to the home environment.

How to avoid yellow leaves of the gardenia you just bought?

1. If the soil of the gardenia you just bought home is blue-black clay, or blue-black clay mixed with loess, it is not suitable for growing gardenia indoors and the soil must be changed.

2. Soak the gardenia in water until it is completely submerged, leaving a gap between the gardenia pot and the bottom of the water. It only takes one morning for the soil in the pot to fall off completely. Then prepare clean water and add carbendazim, soak the gardenia for half an hour, and place it in a cool and ventilated place to dry the roots.

3. Prepare to pot. You can choose clay pots or eye-catching plastic bottles as flower pots. First, place 3-5cm thick branches at the bottom of the pot, and then fill it with nutrient soil. The soil can be prepared with peat soil, coarse sand and perlite in a ratio of 2:1:1.

4. Place the gardenia with dried roots into the flowerpot, continue to fill with soil, and finally water it thoroughly once. Place it in a cool and ventilated place to slow down the growth of the seedlings.

5. Prepare a clean plastic bottle, fill it with water and tighten the cap. Then use a needle to poke a few holes on the side. Place it in the gardenia pot and let the water slowly drip into the pot to avoid root rot caused by overwatering.

How to make the gardenia you just bought bloom?

1. The newly bought gardenias have basically been treated to promote flowering, so do not apply any fertilizer for at least 1 month.

2. After one month, you can spray 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution once a week, or use an ear pick to scoop a spoonful of ferrous sulfate, add 2-3 grains of compound fertilizer or urea, put it into about 1L of water and stir evenly. 1L of water is about the amount of 2 standard mineral water bottles. Let it stand for 5 minutes and then spray it on the leaves.

3. Mix leftover beer and clean water in a ratio of 1:10 to make a solution, and then pour it on the roots or spray it on the leaves of gardenias. This can encourage gardenias to carry out more photosynthesis, make the gardenias bloom bigger, and also kill bacteria and insects.

That’s all for today’s introduction to Huahua.
