Cultivation methods and maintenance matters of old Euphorbia milii

Cultivation method of old Euphorbia pilosa

1. Temperature: Old Euphorbia milii prefers a warm environment, preferably around 20 to 30 degrees. It is not cold-resistant and needs to be protected from the cold in most areas in winter and needs to be moved to a warm indoor place.

2. Watering: Old Euphorbia milii stumps are afraid of waterlogging, so water cannot accumulate. It is better to keep the soil dry than wet. Wait until the soil is completely dry before watering it thoroughly. Increase the number of waterings during high temperatures in summer and reduce the frequency of watering in winter.

3. Light: Sufficient light needs to be provided during the maintenance of old Euphorbia milii stumps, but it cannot tolerate direct sunlight. Bright diffuse light is sufficient.

4. Soil: It is best to plant old Euphorbia milii in breathable, well-drained and fertile soil. Generally, the pot needs to be repotted every 1-2 years. When repotting, the rotten roots can be trimmed to allow it to grow better.

5. Pruning : Old Euphorbia milii does not need to be pruned when it blooms. After the flowering period, the overlong and unevenly growing branches should be cut short. Generally, two new branches will grow under the cut ends of the branches. When the new branches grow to 5 cm, they will bloom. After a few years of care, the whole plant will be full of small red flowers. Euphorbia milii can be pruned into a spherical or animal shape.

Precautions for the maintenance of old Euphorbia pilosa

Euphorbia milii usually starts to sprout in spring and needs to be well cared for, provided with sufficient light and timely watering. It also needs to be kept warm during the low temperatures in winter.

During the maintenance of old Euphorbia milii stumps, the pots need to be changed every 1-2 years. Otherwise, once the soil becomes clumpy, its air permeability and drainage will be poor. Choose good quality soil for replacement.

At the same time, the root system can also be repaired. Euphorbia milii is an upright vine plant, which is easy to fall over after it grows taller, so it is necessary to build a frame with bamboo strips and then make it into various shapes.
