How long does it take to ferment rice water for watering flowers? How to ferment it so that it doesn't smell bad?

1. How long does it take to ferment?

It doesn’t take a long time to ferment rice water. It can be as short as a week or as long as 20-30 days. When fermenting, place it in the sun. The better the sunlight, the faster it will ferment. If it is fermented in winter when the light is weak, it will take longer to wait. When you find that the rice water turns from turbid to clear and the odor becomes lighter, it means that the fermentation is complete.

It should be noted that it must be fermented before use, otherwise it will harm the root growth of the plant and cause the flowers to fall. In severe cases, the entire plant will wither. Although watering flowers after fermentation is beneficial to their growth, it should not be used too frequently. Generally, it is enough to use it once every 15-20 days.

2. How to ferment without stinking

1. Add orange peel: During fermentation, you can cut the orange peel into pieces and put it in together, or you can use grapefruit peel. Because they emit a fresh fragrance, this can greatly reduce the odor produced by fermentation.

2. Proper ventilation: This method means loosening the lid appropriately and not sealing it too tightly. This way, the odor during the fermentation process will gradually dissipate, and it will no longer smell bad after fermentation. Or you can wait until the fermentation is complete, then unscrew the lid and let the odor dissipate.
