What to do if aloe vera grows too tall

What does aloe vera look like when it grows too long?

Aloe vera is a herbaceous plant of the Liliales family, also known as Aloe vera. If it is not properly maintained during its growth period, it will grow too tall. The longer the plant grows, the thicker the leaves will be, affecting its overall ornamental value.

Causes of Aloe Vera Lean Growth

1. The main reason for aloe vera's excessive growth is light. Aloe vera likes an environment with plenty of sunlight and can be grown outdoors. If aloe vera is grown in a shaded indoor environment, it will easily grow excessively.

2. In addition to the reasons of light, there is also blind fertilization. Aloe vera does not require much fertilizer and can grow well without fertilization. However, some flower lovers are too indulgent towards aloe vera and apply a lot of nitrogen fertilizer, which will cause the aloe vera to grow too tall.

How to deal with aloe vera overgrowth

1. You can place the aloe vera outdoors for maintenance. If such conditions are not available, you should also place the aloe vera in a sunny place. The daily light time needs to be more than 6 hours, so that the aloe vera can have green leaves and no longer grow tall.

2. When fertilizing aloe vera, you need to follow the principle of applying thin fertilizers frequently. Do not apply too much fertilizer, especially nitrogen fertilizer, to avoid excessive growth. When fertilizing, you also need to control the concentration and not make it too high.

3. If the aloe vera has grown too tall, then you need to be ruthless to it and "behead it". This can reduce nutrient consumption. After beheading, keep it in a well-ventilated semi-shady environment. After it adapts to the new environment, you can maintain it normally.
