What should I do if Flame Tia grows too tall?

What does Flame Tia look like?

After the flame Tia grows too tall, the leaves near the top leaf disk become sparse and the distance between the leaves becomes large. Its stem becomes very high, and the stalk is covered with scars left by plucking leaves, which looks very unsightly. If you want to prevent Tia from growing too tall, you should ensure good light during maintenance and avoid excessive water, otherwise it will easily grow too tall.

The reason why Flame Tia grows too long

Flame Tia likes to grow in sunny places and cannot tolerate waterlogging environments. If there is insufficient light, too high temperature and excessive watering, it will grow too tall. At this time, its color will lose its luster, which will particularly affect its appearance.

How to deal with the excessive growth of Flame Tia

1. The leggy growth of Tia caused by insufficient light requires sufficient light. In spring and autumn when there is sufficient light and appropriate amount of water, leggy growth generally will not occur. The main thing is to pay attention to maintenance in summer and winter. In summer, when the temperature is above 35 degrees, pay attention to shade, but do not place it directly in a dark place, otherwise it will grow leggy.

2. In winter, if the temperature is higher than 15 degrees, appropriate light can be provided. When the temperature is lower than 10 degrees, more sunlight should be added. Otherwise, insufficient indoor light will make the growth of Tiatus more serious.

3. For the excessive growth caused by too much water, the most important thing is to control watering. You can water it sufficiently during the growth period, but if the temperature rises in summer, you need a small amount of watering. If the temperature in winter is controlled above 5 degrees, you can water it normally to allow it to grow normally.

4. When Tia has started to grow tall, you can place it under sufficient light and water it appropriately to allow the branches and leaves to grow normally. Then you need to break off the tall growing leaves to inhibit its tall growth.
