The seeds of freesia grow in its capsule and are mainly spread by ejection. Although the plant has a long fruiting period, the capsule will naturally crack when it grows to a certain size and the seeds will be ejected.

The best time to sow freesia is from August to October in autumn. The reason for sowing in autumn is that the climate is stable at this time, the survival rate of seeds is the highest, and the plants will bloom in April or May of the following spring, and have a high ornamental value.

1. Preparation of potting soil

Freesia is more suitable for growing in loose, fertile and moist soil. If it is grown in potted plants, you can use humus soil, garden soil and sandy soil in a ratio of 5:3:2, and add a little animal manure.

2. Sowing

After preparing the potting soil, you can start sowing. Freesia seeds do not need to be germinated and can be sown at any time. Sprinkle the seeds directly on the surface of the potting soil, cover it with a layer of fine soil, water it thoroughly to keep the soil slightly moist, and control the ambient temperature at around 15-20℃.
