Does the Jade Plant need root pruning?

The Jade Plant needs root pruning. Its root system has a strong growth ability, so every time you repot it, you need to trim the old, rotten and diseased roots, leaving only the healthy roots.

Do I need to trim the roots of a newly bought Jade Plant? For a newly bought Jade Plant, it is best to transplant it into a new pot with new soil. Remove the soil from the plant and expose its outer roots. Then carefully check whether the roots are rotten or decayed, and then trim the roots appropriately. Apply some carbendazim powder to disinfect and inhibit the invasion of pathogens.

Does hydroponics require root pruning? Jade plant is a succulent plant and is rarely grown in water. If you need to use water to make it take root, you can first cut strong jade plant branches and put them in a ventilated place to dry, then place them in a container of water about half a centimeter to one centimeter so that it can fully contact the moisture but not the water.

Root washing: After pruning, the Jade Plant should be disinfected and carbendazim should be applied to the wound to avoid infection. After that, it can better absorb nutrients and water, promoting better germination.

How long to pot it: After root pruning, the Jade Plant needs to be potted after the wound is dried. It is best to use moist soil for potting after the wound is dried. It is not necessary and should not be watered thoroughly. Just place the bonsai in a cool and ventilated place to slow down the growth.

Watering: Watering the Jade Leaf right after it is potted can easily cause root rot, which can lead to failure in repotting. If it is fast, you need to wait 2-3 days before watering it, and if it is slow, it needs 5-7 days before watering it. It mainly depends on the plant's acclimatization.

Sunbathing: After the Jade Plant is potted, it should be moved with soil. It can be exposed to the sun immediately after watering. To be on the safe side, it can also be shaded for 3 days.
