How to divide the pots of Suxin orchids so that they can survive easily

When is the best time to divide the cymbidium orchid?

It is best to divide the orchid in spring when the climate is suitable and the survival rate is high. It is best to repot and divide the orchid within half a month after the orchid withers, because if you divide the plant before it blooms, it may cause the plant to bloom less or not at all.

The correct way to divide the pot of Suxin orchid

Do not water the cymbidium before transplanting. Carefully remove the bulb from the pot, cut off all dead roots with scissors, and then transplant it.

Division and repotting: Control the water for 3-5 days before repotting the cymbidium orchid to facilitate removal from the pot and reduce root damage. Pour out the planting material, straighten the orchid root system, find the path for division, cut it off, and divide the three generations of seedlings into a group according to this method. Soak them in carbendazim for half an hour and water them in pots to fix the roots.

Root division and potting: Chrysanthemum orchids grow slowly and can only be divided after 3-4 years. Repotting should be done during the dormant period after flowering. Gently turn the orchid out of the pot, shake off the soil, cut off the residual roots, find the widest part of the two bulbs and cut them apart. Both parts should have new buds to facilitate the development of new roots, and finally pot them.

Precautions for transplanting cymbidium orchids

The flowerpot should not be too large : planting cymbidium seedlings in a large pot can easily lead to poor ventilation. If it is too wet, the planting material will not dry easily, which can easily lead to root rot.

Fixation : Because the cymbidium orchid is not deeply planted, it is easy to grow unsteadily and needs to be fixed with a support to avoid damaging the roots.

What soil to use: The growth of chypre orchids has high requirements for soil. They prefer loam rich in humus, good drainage and water retention. When preparing, you can mix leaf mold, mountain soil and red soil to meet its needs and grow more vigorously.

How to deal with wilting: If the Cymbidium orchid wilts, put it in a cool and ventilated place to allow it to acclimate. It will take about a week. Under normal circumstances, it will be able to recover.
