How to care for lucky bamboo in winter

Is lucky bamboo afraid of freezing?

Lucky bamboo has poor cold resistance, so special care must be taken during the winter to avoid frostbite. It likes to grow in temperatures between 20-28℃, so it must be moved indoors for maintenance in time during the winter.

Lucky bamboo likes light, so it needs to be given sufficient sunlight in winter, which can increase the ambient temperature and help the plant accumulate more nutrients and grow more vigorously.

How to care for lucky bamboo in winter

1. Temperature requirements: If the temperature is too low, lucky bamboo will grow slowly. The biggest problem in winter cultivation is temperature control. If the temperature can be controlled between 16-26°C, the plant can grow stably. If it cannot be controlled, the minimum temperature must be kept above 10°C.

2. Light requirements: The growth and development of lucky bamboo cannot be separated from photosynthesis, so sunlight exposure is also essential. The temperature is low in winter, but the light intensity is soft, so you should get more sunlight when the light is good.

3. Watering control: Because the plant grows slowly in winter and water evaporates slowly, its water requirement is not large. Usually watering once every 20 days or so is sufficient.

Precautions for cultivating lucky bamboo in winter

1. The temperature in the north is lower than in the south in winter and it is easy to freeze. It is more difficult to let lucky bamboo survive the winter safely, so anti-cold measures should be taken in time. If lucky bamboo is grown in water, the water surface should be prevented from freezing.

2. Lucky bamboo is not cold-resistant. The temperature in the north is low in winter, but there is heating indoors. Move it indoors immediately and control the temperature above 15 degrees. It can grow normally. Give it more sunlight and don't water it too often. A slightly dry soil is conducive to wintering.

3. Lucky bamboo is suitable for growing under bright scattered light. If the light is too strong, the leaves of the plant will turn yellow and grow slowly. If you want it to bloom more, you can expose it to more sunlight in the morning and evening.

4. You need to control the temperature of indoor water-cultured bamboo. It likes a warm environment and is not suitable for cultivation in cold places. If you want it to bloom more in winter, you must control the temperature above ten degrees.

5. When lucky bamboo grows in winter, it is suitable to grow between 16 and 26 degrees. It is necessary to maintain a proper indoor temperature so that it can safely survive the winter without being frozen to death. Too cold temperature can easily cause the death of the plant.
