What kind of soil is suitable for planting baby's breath

Gypsophila soil

Baby's breath likes to grow in loose, fertile, well-drained slightly alkaline sandy loam. The soil should be loose, rich in organic matter, with moderate water content and a pH value of about 7. If it is to be transplanted later, the soil should also be cultivated according to the same requirements.

Gypsophila can be grown with ordinary soil orchids, as long as the soil is not too sticky. Using coarse sandy soil with good drainage is more conducive to its growth.

Method of preparing soil for baby's breath

1. Nutrient soil

When planting baby's breath, you need to use a relatively soft flower soil, because this is more conducive to its germination. If you don’t know how to prepare it, you can also use nutrient soil mixed with a small amount of river sand. After adding river sand, it will be more breathable and more conducive to plant growth.

2. Matrix nutrient soil

During the whole process of planting baby's breath, you need to prepare a suitable growth medium for it. You can use common nutrient soil for planting, or you can use leaf mold, silt soil, and organic fertilizer mixed in a ratio of 6:3:1 as the planting medium.

Gypsophila potted plant soil change

1. The baby's breath bonsai generally needs to be repotted every 1-2 years to ensure that there is enough new soil in the pot to keep the plant growing well.

2. Repotting is usually done in February or March in spring or in late autumn.

3. When transplanting into pots, it is usually necessary to carry out the work with soil, and watering after potting needs to be done with caution, and it cannot be watered directly with water.

4. Do not completely remove the old soil adhering to the root system.

5. Replant in the pot and place it in a cool and ventilated place.
