Baby's breath likes to grow in loose, fertile, well-drained slightly alkaline sandy loam. The soil should be loose, rich in organic matter, with moderate water content and a pH value of about 7. Gypsophila can be grown with ordinary soil orchids, as long as the soil is not too sticky. Using coarse sandy soil with good drainage is more conducive to its growth.
