The red pear's flower and leaf buds sprout in April, followed by blooming. The fruit matures in September. The annual vegetative growth days are 215 to 240 days. It prefers a warm, sunny environment. In sufficient light, the sugar content of the fruit increases and the quality also improves.

It is suitable for cultivation in Qinhuangdao, Tangshan, Shijiazhuang, Cangzhou, Xingtai and other cities in Hebei Province. Hebei, Shandong and Liaoning provinces are concentrated production areas, accounting for about half of the cultivated area and 60% of the output. Among them, Hebei Province's annual output accounts for about 1/3 of the country's total.
