How to grow tennis flowers

soil

For potted tennis flowers, you can choose loose, fertile and well-drained soil. You can add some fine sand to the culture soil to increase its air permeability. At the bottom of the flower pot, add a layer of coarse sand or gravel as a drainage layer.

Light and temperature

Tennis flower likes a semi-shaded growing environment and is afraid of direct sunlight. In spring and autumn, the tennis flower can be placed in a semi-shaded place for maintenance. When the sun is strong in summer, the tennis flower needs to be moved to a cool and ventilated place for maintenance, and appropriate shade should be provided to avoid burning the leaves.

The suitable temperature for the growth of tennis flowers is between 16℃ and 26℃, and the night temperature should be between 10℃ and 12℃. The winter overwintering temperature cannot be lower than 5℃, otherwise the tennis flower plants will be frostbitten. During the flowering period of the tennis flower, you can place it in a place with lower temperature to prolong the flowering period.

Watering and fertilizing

When planting tennis flowers, you should pay attention to keeping the soil in the pot moist and not watering them too much, otherwise water will accumulate in the pot and cause the roots to rot. In autumn, the temperature gradually drops, the leaves of the tennis flower begin to turn yellow and enter a dormant period. You should reduce watering and finally stop watering. When cultivating tennis flowers, it is necessary to apply fertilizers reasonably. Apply a certain amount of cake fertilizer as base fertilizer when planting. During the growing season, you can apply thin fertilizer water once every half a month.

Reproduction method

The propagation of tennis flowers is mostly by dividing bulbs and sowing.
