Banana planting conditions and growing environment

Banana Introduction

Banana, also known as golden banana and bow banana, is a plant of the Musaceae family and the genus Musa. It is widely grown in tropical regions. Banana is fragrant and rich in nutrients. The plant is a large herb.

There are many types of bananas, including rice banana, sesame banana, northern banana, cactus banana, Li Lin banana, Saigon banana, gray banana, rose banana, etc.

Banana Planting Conditions

Bananas prefer a high temperature and humid environment. They are suitable for planting in soil with a deep, loose and well-drained layer. The soil selection is strict. Heavy clay soil with poor ventilation and structure or poor drainage is extremely unfavorable for the development of the root system. Bananas are afraid of low temperatures and avoid frost and snow. Their cold resistance is weaker than that of plantains and pink bananas.

The suitable growth temperature for bananas is between 20-35 degrees, the most suitable growth temperature is between 24 and 32 degrees, and the temperature must not be lower than 15.5 degrees. Bananas are native to southeastern Asia and are cultivated in Taiwan, Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi, etc.

Banana planting time

Bananas have strong adaptability to the environment and can be planted in spring, summer and autumn. Spring planting should be carried out after February, summer planting is best in June, and autumn planting is best carried out in August-September.

Banana Planting Benefits

The total cost of planting one acre of bananas is about 3,800-4,000 yuan, and the output of one acre of bananas is about 5,000 catties. Calculated based on the market price of 2.5 per catty, the income per acre is about 12,500 yuan. After deducting the cost, the net profit per acre is 8,000-9,000 yuan. It can be seen that the profit margin of growing bananas is still relatively large.
