How to change soil and pot for white palm

Time to repot white palm

It is generally more suitable to repot and change the soil for Anthurium in spring and autumn, because it prefers a warm, humid and well-ventilated growing environment. The most suitable growth temperature is generally maintained between 18°C-28°C. Spring and autumn can meet the growth temperature conditions of Anthurium, so it can adapt to the new pot as soon as possible after repotting.

Changing soil and potting for white palm

The reason why the soil and pots are changed during the planting of white calla lilies is that as the seedlings grow, the roots have no room to expand in the soil in the pot, so their growth is restricted. Another reason is that the nutrients in the original soil in the pot are lost and cannot provide nutrients to the plants.

When changing the soil and pot of Sansevieria, you need to ensure that the soil is changed in a cool, diffused light and humid environment. The temperature should not be too high or too low, otherwise it will inhibit the normal growth of Sansevieria.

How to change soil and pot for white palm

1. Remove the pot

Before changing the soil and pot of anthurium, you need to control the water first. When removing the plant from the pot, hold the bulb with one hand, turn the pot upside down with the other hand, and tap it gently to easily remove the plant. After removing the plant from the pot, check whether the roots are rotten, and cut off rotten and aging roots.

2. Prepare the soil

When changing the soil for anthuriums, it is more appropriate to use a mixture of leaf mold, peat soil and compost soil, and also add some perlite or river sand to ensure good soil drainage.

3. Planting

Place the treated calla lilies plant directly into the prepared pot, which should contain an appropriate amount of soil and some base fertilizer. Then continue to add soil, compact the soil after adding it, and water it thoroughly.

Maintenance of white palm after soil change

1. Watering

After changing the soil of the calla lily, just keep the soil in the pot slightly moist. There must be no accumulation of water, and the pot must be well ventilated so that it will be easier for it to adapt to the pot.

2. Fertilization

Do not apply fertilizer immediately after changing the soil of the calla lily. Wait until the snake plant starts to grow new leaves, then you can fertilize it. You can use fully decomposed organic fertilizer, sheep manure fertilizer, or chicken manure fertilizer.

3. Pruning

After changing the soil of the calla lily, you need to trim the dead leaves. The yellow leaves and dead leaves should be broken off from the roots. Do not just trim the dry parts of the leaves. The withered leaves can be picked off after they are old.

4. Lighting

After changing the soil for the anthurium, place it in a bright and ventilated place for the first half month. Do not expose it to the sun immediately, otherwise the roots will not have grown firmly and the leaves will easily wilt and wither due to the sun.
