Can peony be grown in Guangxi?

Peonies can be grown in Guangxi, but when planting, you need to pay attention to the heavy rainfall in Guangxi, so you must drain the water in time after the rain; it likes alkaline or neutral soil, and the soil in the south is highly acidic, so the pH value must be controlled. In addition, during the peak growing season, you must apply fertilizer regularly to provide sufficient nutrients.

Peony is suitable for growing in an environment with sufficient sunlight and fertile soil. Peony is mainly distributed in Jiangsu, Northeast China, North China, Shaanxi and southern Gansu in my country. Most varieties of peony can be planted in Guangxi, and they can all be kept alive as long as they are managed properly.

Planting technology of peony in Guangxi

1. Lighting

Peonies need more than eight hours of natural light every day during their growth process. If there is insufficient light, the flowers will only grow leaves but no flowers. When growing peonies in winter, you can place them on the balcony for maintenance, or you can use plant fill lights to supplement the light for the peonies.

2. Temperature

It can survive in high temperatures of 40 degrees in summer and low temperatures of minus 20 degrees in winter, but it is best to keep the temperature of artificially maintained peonies at around 20 degrees, which can promote the growth and development of the plant.

3. Watering

Peony likes moisture but is not tolerant to waterlogging. If watering is too frequent, the roots of the plant will be waterlogged and rot. When watering peony, you need to observe the degree of moisture in the soil first. If the soil surface turns white and becomes dry, you need to water the plant. In addition to watering the soil, you also need to spray water on the leaves of the peony to keep the whole plant moist.

4. Soil

Peony is suitable for growing in loose, fertile and humus-rich soil. You can use leaf mold, sandy soil and garden soil in a ratio of 2:2:1. You can also plow the soil to increase its air permeability, and then add some decomposed farmyard manure to increase soil fertility.
