How to save lily seeds

Lily seeds should be harvested in time and stored until sowing in the spring of the following year. They will germinate about a month after sowing. The seedlings cannot tolerate strong sunlight and need to be properly shaded. In autumn, more small bulbs will grow in the underground part, which can then be dug out and transplanted.

There should be no problem in preserving lily seeds for two years. Lilies can keep their own seeds. When the lily flowers have withered and the leaves have dried up, you can directly pour out the seeds.

Lily Seed Saving

Lily seeds need to be sealed and stored in a low-temperature, dry, well-ventilated environment, and it is better to keep them in a dark place, so that the survival rate of sowing will be higher.

Lily Seed Planting

Lily seeds like to grow in an environment of about 20 degrees. The temperature during planting is best within this range, which can increase the germination rate. The germination rate of lily seeds is not high, so the selection method of the period is very important. Try to plant it in spring or autumn.

1. Disinfection: Lily seeds cannot be planted directly. They need to be disinfected. Soak them in drugs such as thiophanate-methyl and carbendazim, wash them with water, and place them in a dry and ventilated place to dry.

2. Cultivation: If everything is done well, you can choose the appropriate weather for planting, prepare the soil in advance, and plant lily seeds.

3. Post-maintenance: Post-maintenance after planting is also very important. It is necessary to provide reasonable light, and while absorbing sunlight, provide appropriate water and nutrients to maintain post-growth.

4. Growth environment: An environment with good sunshine is suitable for the cultivation of lilies. The length of sunshine has a great influence on the differentiation of flower buds. Moreover, lilies are not suitable for growing in places with high temperatures. The normal growth temperature of lilies is above 20 degrees. When the temperature exceeds 30 degrees, the growth of lilies is restricted. In addition, depending on the type of lily, the temperature that can adapt to is also different.
