How to take care of the newly bought red flower jade

How to take care of the newly bought red flower jade

1. Lighting

The red flower jade likes to bask in the sun, and it needs more sun in spring, autumn and winter. Sufficient light is conducive to the plant being short and strong. Lack of light will easily make the red flower jade grow too tall and not bloom. Provide proper shade around noon in summer to prevent the sphere from being burned by high temperature and causing sunburn.

2. Temperature

A warm environment is the favorite of the red flower jade. The most suitable growth temperature is 15-28℃. If the temperature drops below 10℃ in winter, it should be moved indoors. If the temperature is below 10℃, be sure to cut off watering, keep the soil dry, and prevent frost so that the plant can safely overwinter.

3. Watering

The temperature is low in winter, but as long as you keep the soil dry and wait until the weather warms up next year before watering the plants, they will resume growing. During the growing season, wait until the soil in the pot is completely dry before watering thoroughly. If there are consecutive rainy days, do not water it yet. It is safer to let it dry a little.

4. Fertilization

The requirements of the red flower jade for fertilizer and water are not high. During the peak growing season in spring and autumn, a light amount of fertilizer water should be poured along the edge of the pot once a month. Before the low temperatures arrive in late autumn, sprinkle some wood ash along the edge of the pot to supplement potassium fertilizer, improve the plant's cold resistance, and help it survive the winter safely.

5. Reproduction

Provide enough fertilizer and water during the growing period, and control water during the dormant period, and the red flower jade will give birth to cubs around the mother ball. When the cubs grow up, you can cut them off, dry the wounds, transplant them into new pots, and divide them into several pots.
