Is a deep or shallow pot suitable for rubber trees?

Should I use a deep or shallow pot for my rubber tree?

Rubber trees are suitable for planting in deep pots because the root system of rubber trees is relatively developed and their body is large. Only deep pots can meet the growth needs of the root system. If a shallow pot is used, the root system cannot fully extend.

When choosing flower pot materials, rubber trees can be planted in ceramic pots, clay pots, and purple clay pots. These pots have very good air permeability and water permeability.

How to repot a rubber tree

1. Time to repot the rubber tree

The best time to repot a rubber tree is around March in spring. At this time, the buds of the plant have not yet grown, and the plant will recover faster after repotting.

2. Watering after repotting the rubber tree

After repotting the rubber tree, you need to wait for a while before repotting it to keep the soil in the pot slightly moist. If the temperature is too high, you can spray water on the leaves to increase the air humidity.

3. Precautions for repotting rubber trees

(1) Removing the plant from the pot: When removing the rubber tree from the pot, you can knock the pot wall a few times with your hands, and then turn the pot over, so that you can get a complete plant.

(2) Potting and maintenance: Place the rubber tree in new potting soil, then compact it with backfill soil, making sure to keep it 2-3 cm away from the edge of the pot.

(3) Post-care: After potting, place the rubber tree in a cool place and wait until new leaves grow, then carry out normal care.
