Vinca major, also known as Catharanthus roseus, is a plant of the Apocynaceae family. Vinca major is suitable for sowing in spring and autumn every year. The specific time for sowing is March-May and September-October. The temperature in these two time periods is suitable and the survival rate of sowing is high. It should be noted that sowing cannot be carried out in advance, otherwise it will affect germination.

Five-petal plum sowing method

1. Soil selection

When sowing the seeds of the five-petal plum, you need to choose a potting soil suitable for its cultivation. You need to choose sandy soil with loose texture and good permeability. You can choose leaf mold, peat, and perlite and mix them in a ratio of 5:4:1.

2. Start sowing

Before sowing, you need to spray the soil with carbendazim liquid to sterilize and disinfect the soil, then sprinkle the five-petal plum seeds, cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil, water them appropriately, and keep the soil moist. After half a month, the seeds will take root and sprout.

3. Seeding management

When the seeds of the five-petal plum have not yet taken root and sprouted, they need to be placed in a cool place for cultivation. No fertilizer is needed, just keep the soil moist. After germination, the plants need to be given sufficient sunlight. When the sunlight is strong, shade is needed in time. Water every 3 days and apply organic fertilizer every 20 days to help the young shoots grow.

Five-petal plum blossom time

Generally speaking, it takes about 14-15 weeks for the five-petal plum to bloom from sowing. The five-petal plum can usually bloom all year round, provided that the growing environment is suitable and it is properly maintained.
