When is the best time to sow Bupleurum

Bupleurum sowing time

Bupleurum is a plant of the Umbelliferae family. It is generally best planted in March-April in spring, and can also be planted in September-October in autumn.

Bupleurum sowing method

1. Site selection and land preparation : When choosing a field for Bupleurum, choose sandy loam, and do not choose to plant it in clay or poorly drained land.

2. Direct seeding : Before sowing Bupleurum, the bed should be watered sufficiently, and then the seedlings will emerge 10-12 days after sowing.

3. Seedling cultivation : After sowing Bupleurum, cover it with plastic film to keep it warm, or directly spread it on the bed, cover it with fine soil and water it so that the seedlings can emerge as soon as possible.

4. Transplantation : When the Bupleurum seedlings grow to 7 cm, they can be transplanted to the field. Pay attention to the row spacing. After transplanting, water them to help the seedlings to grow.

Key points for planting Bupleurum

Fertilization : When the Bupleurum seedlings grow to 15 cm, weed them once with a hoe and fertilize them with phosphorus fertilizer and urea, being careful not to damage the seedlings.

Intertillage and weeding : When weeds are found, they should be removed promptly. After weeding, the drainage ditch becomes shallow and intertillage and soil should be cultivated to restore the height of the ridge.

Bupleurum mature harvest

Bupleurum blooms from July to September in summer and autumn, and bears fruits and matures from August to October. It can be harvested when it grows to 2 years old, and can produce 1,800-2,700 kilograms per hectare.
