What to do if the stems of Axe-leaf Peperomia rot

The reason why the stems of Axe-leaf Peperomia rot: insufficient light

Axe-leaf peperomia is a light-loving plant. If there is insufficient light, it will tend to grow too tall. The distance between leaves of the overgrown axe-leaf peperomia will become very long, the plant shape will be loose, the stems will be soft, and they will rot easily.

Remedial measures: Cut off the overgrown branches and leaves, take cuttings, and allow the old plant to continue growing in a place with sufficient light.

The reason why the stems of Axe-leaf Peperomia rot: give water frequently during cuttings

It is very simple to propagate branches by cuttings. Just take down the healthy old branches, dry them, and then plant them in slightly moist sandy soil. But if not handled properly, the stems will easily rot. If you water the cuttings frequently, the stems of the plants will break.

Remedial measures: Place the cuttings in a cool and ventilated place for more than 20 days, and keep the soil in the pot slightly moist. Wait until roots grow before carrying out normal maintenance.

Causes of stem rot in Axe-leaf Peperomia: Rain

The stems of Axe-leaf Peperomia can be up to 10 cm long. If they are wet by rain, most of the rain water will soak the stems, causing them to rot.

Remedial measures : If flower lovers did not notice the rain or did not have enough time to move the axe-leaf peperomia indoors, if they find it in time, they can move the pot to a ventilated place to dry. Do not water it in the short term. Wait until the soil in the pot is slightly dry before carrying out normal maintenance such as watering and fertilizing.

If rotten stems are found, you can use the cutting method to cut off the leaves or stems, and transplant them by cuttings. Place the old plants in a ventilated place for cultivation.
