Time to divide air plants

Air plants have short stems, lush branches and leaves. Their sword-shaped leaves are green on the top and pink-green on the back. There are four varieties of air plants, namely Caine, Queen, Spanish and hybrid. Propagation by division is often carried out in spring. The survival rate of division is low during the high temperatures in summer and winter.

Steps to divide air plants

When the tiller buds of the air plant are 8 to 10 cm long, you can cut them off and then plant them in loose, fertile, well-drained soil. Provide a temperature of 25-28 degrees. They will take root in about a month and can be planted in pots in 50-60 days.

The mother plant of the air plant from which the tiller buds are broken off can grow 2-3 more batches of tiller buds under careful care. To make the mother plant grow more tiller buds, it is best to plant it in the ground, apply fertilizer frequently, and provide sufficient light.
