The growing environment of avocado is suitable for the conditions of the growing place

Avocado Growing Environment and Conditions

Avocado prefers a warm, humid and sunny environment and is not cold-resistant. It is grown in tropical and subtropical regions around the world. It is mostly planted in the United States, Guatemala, Mexico and Cuba, and in small quantities in Guangdong, Hainan, Fujian, Guangxi, Taiwan, Yunnan and Sichuan in China.

Avocado Growing Conditions

Avocado prefers a warm and humid environment, and the annual rainfall is best above 1,000 mm. Its root system is very shallow and cannot tolerate strong winds. Strong winds will lead to a decrease in yield. It has strong adaptability to soil, and it is best to provide fertile, loose, well-drained soil.

Avocado growing temperature

Avocados are suitable for an average annual temperature of 20-25 degrees. Different varieties have different cold resistance. Cold-resistant varieties can withstand temperatures as low as minus 6 degrees Celsius, while varieties with low cold resistance will dry up when encountering temperatures as low as zero degrees.

Avocado Growth Process

Since the growth cycle of avocado is relatively long, generally speaking it will not bear fruit within five years after planting. Therefore, its management during the growth process is very important. If it is not managed well, the fruit tree will not bear fruit.

Avocado planting time and method

Avocados are suitable for planting in spring. Buy plump avocado seeds, then prepare them for germination. Plant the seeds with the tip facing upwards in the soil, cover them with a thin layer of soil. The sowing ground should receive sufficient sunlight and be watered every seven hours or so. They will usually germinate and grow into seedlings in about two weeks.

The seedlings can be transplanted when they are about 40 centimeters tall. Before planting, you need to dig holes with a row spacing of four to five meters and a plant spacing of three to four meters, and sprinkle enough base fertilizer. When transplanting, you must pay attention to transplant the soil on the seedbed as much as possible, so that the survival rate will be higher, and then water it.
