What are the cultivation methods and precautions of four-season plum

Introduction of Four Seasons Plum

The four-season plum, also known as daily spring, daily new, daily spring flower, vinca roseus, four-season spring, five-petal plum, wild geese coming red, and daily blooming, is a plant of the genus Vinca in the Apocynaceae family. It is commonly propagated by sowing, cuttings and tissue culture.

Four Seasons Plum Cultivation Method

The four-season plum can be planted in fertile and loose peat soil or garden soil. Do not use saline-alkali soil. Do not water it excessively. Watering once every 3-5 days is enough.

During the growing period of Prunus mume, fertilizer should be applied once every ten days or so, with more nitrogen fertilizer used, and more phosphorus fertilizer used during the bud formation period. It should be placed in a light place at ordinary times, and the temperature should be best between 20 and 33 degrees. In addition, pay attention to timely pruning and spraying pesticides to prevent and control diseases.

Watering method

Do not water the plant excessively during maintenance to avoid waterlogging, otherwise the roots will easily rot. Generally, water the plant once every 3-5 days to keep the soil slightly moist. In winter, water should be controlled. Dry soil is more conducive to wintering.

Fertilization method

During the growing period and bud formation period, it is necessary to apply thin fertilizers frequently to the four-season plum. Only with sufficient nutrients can it grow better. Generally, fertilizer is applied once every ten days during the growing period, and more nitrogen fertilizer is used. More phosphorus fertilizer should be applied during the bud formation period, so that the color of the flowers will be brighter and more ornamental.

Pruning methods

During the cultivation of Prunus mume, attention should be paid to timely pinching and topping. When five leaves grow, pinching should be carried out to promote the sprouting of side branches. After flowering, the remaining flowers and branches that have bloomed should be cut off in time to prevent nutrient loss.

Precautions for cultivation of four-season plum

The four-season plum likes a warm environment, and the best growing temperature is between 20 and 33 degrees. The temperature must be controlled in winter and must not be lower than 5 degrees, otherwise it will be frostbite. It should be placed in the light. The flowers will bloom more beautifully with sufficient light. However, pay attention to the high light intensity in summer and shade it to avoid sunburn. Pay attention to disease prevention and control, and spray pesticides in time when discovered.
