Introduction of Fragrant Vine

The fragrant vine is a plant of the Apocynaceae family, the genus Dipterocarpus, and can be propagated by cuttings in three seasons: spring, summer, and autumn.

The leaves of the fragrant vine are opposite, oblong, wrinkled and shiny. The flowers are axillary and come in red, peach red and pink colors. It blooms almost all year round from early spring to late autumn.

Cultivation method of Pina colada

The fragrant vine grows better in warm, humid places with sufficient light and good ventilation. It can grow in half to full sunlight. The maintenance environment should not be too dark. The suitable growth temperature is between 20-30 degrees, not exceeding 35℃. The room temperature in winter should not be lower than 10℃. It likes sandy loam rich in humus and good drainage.

The fragrant vine can be propagated by cuttings in spring, summer and autumn. Cut tender and healthy branches with a length of about ten centimeters. Some leaves can be cut off and then propagated. After cuttings, the temperature needs to be around twenty degrees. In addition, the humidity should also be appropriate.

Watering method

The fragrant vine cannot tolerate a waterlogged environment, so you must not overwater it. If there is any stagnant water, drain it in time. Generally, keep the soil semi-moist, which can supply water without causing harm to the plant.

Fertilization method

The fragrant vine does not require much fertilizer. It only needs to be applied three to five times during the entire growth period to meet its requirements. In addition, some base fertilizer can be applied during planting.

Pruning methods

The fragrant vine is very resistant to pruning. If it is an older plant, it needs strong pruning in the spring to promote it to grow more and stronger branches. If it is a younger plant, then the main focus is on its shape, and light pruning is sufficient at this time. In addition, it also needs to be pruned after flowering.

Precautions for cultivating fragrant vine

The fragrant vine needs to be maintained in a sunny place. Insufficient light will affect flowering. Control the application of nitrogen fertilizer during the growth period, otherwise the number of flowers will be small. In addition, the plant has strong resistance to adversity and rarely suffers from diseases and pests, but you should also pay attention to preventive measures.
