How to make and use azalea fertilizer

Suitable fertilizer for azalea

In daily life, there are many common fertilizers for azaleas, such as rapeseed cake, sesame cake, bean cake; fish water; alum fertilizer water diluted with clean water; and fertilizers combining nitrogen and phosphorus. These fertilizers can grow lush azaleas.

Generally speaking, it is most appropriate to use alum fertilizer water for azalea. You can apply it after diluting alum fertilizer water with clean water during its growth period. Fertilizing once half a month will have the most significant effect. You can also apply nitrogen and phosphorus combined fertilizer, applying 2 to 3 times every half a month, which can also promote vigorous growth.

How to make azalea fertilizer

1. Bean cake, sesame cake, rapeseed cake, etc.

Put rapeseed cake, sesame cake and bean cake in water and soak for about 3 to 4 days. Then put them in a fully sealed space at a temperature between 25℃ and 30℃ and store them for 15 days to allow them to fully rot and mature. When needed, add clean water to dilute them before use.

2. Fishy water

Seal some aquatic fish in a small jar and ferment it for more than half a year before use. Add clean water when using it, and dilute the concentration to 3% to 5%. Remember to rinse it with clean water every other day after use.

How to use azalea fertilizer

1. The application of base fertilizer for azalea is relatively simple. After the planting soil is prepared, you can mix it directly. It needs to be mixed evenly. If you want to apply liquid fertilizer and foliar fertilizer to the plant, you need to dilute it before use, and the concentration cannot be too high.

2. Another thing is the frequency of fertilization. It can be determined according to the size of the plant. If the plant is in the seedling stage and its requirements for fertilizer are not too high, it can be fertilized once a month. If the plant is larger, it can be controlled to once every two weeks.

Too much fertilizer for azalea

If azalea uses too much fertilizer and causes it to lose leaves, stop fertilizing immediately and water the plants to flush out the fertilizer in the soil. After watering, place the plants in a ventilated place for cultivation. Some plants need to be rinsed twice. It will take about half a year to resume normal growth.

Precautions for fertilizing azalea

You need to pay attention to the specific time of fertilizing azaleas. It is not suitable to fertilize when the temperature is very high and the sunlight is very strong. It is best to do it in the morning or evening.
