Can bougainvillea be placed in the bedroom?

Can bougainvillea be placed in the bedroom?

1. Is it toxic?

Farmers can rest assured that this plant is non-toxic when used for ornamental purposes. However, if its stems are accidentally eaten by humans or pets, it may cause poisoning and diarrhea. However, if you want to put it in the bedroom just for viewing, you can put it there. However, we generally do not recommend placing it in the bedroom due to other factors besides its toxicity.

2. Reasons for not recommending:

(1) First of all, let’s talk about the habits of the plant itself. It is a plant that particularly likes light, so the first thing we need to ensure is sufficient light. However, if you keep it in the bedroom, it is not easy to ensure the lighting conditions. Some people may ask, you can put it in a place with better light in the bedroom, such as near the windowsill. However, this still cannot satisfy its strong demand. Ten to twelve hours of good light a day is best for it. If you must grow it indoors, the quality of its flowering may not be very good and the quantity may be very small. Another aspect is ventilation. The ventilation conditions in the bedroom are not easy to meet its needs.

(2) Then consider its own size. Because the bedroom is a place for rest and sleeping, it is best to control some plants that are smaller in size and more delicate in appearance. For example, "asparagus fern", "chlorophytum", "orchid" and the like can create a warm and peaceful atmosphere. However, this plant is relatively large in size and occupies a large area, which can make people feel crowded. So, it is not suitable to be placed in the bedroom.
