Why do the gardenias I bought online not survive?

Why do the gardenias I bought online not survive?

1. No soil replacement

Reason: Gardenias purchased online will come with soil on them. This soil is not suitable for growth and may contain germs or insect eggs. If the soil is not changed and the plants are planted and maintained directly, the nutrients in the original soil will be consumed and the soil will find it difficult to absorb nutrients, which will lead to the death of the plants.

Solution: After purchasing, you need to remove the soil and prepare new soil for planting.

2. Root system damage

Reason: The shipping process from online purchases takes a long time, which may cause damage to the root system, or the roots may be damaged when changing the pot and soil. Once the root system is damaged, the transport function will be affected, making it difficult to absorb water and fertilizer to supply the plant, which will cause the plant to die in the long run.

Solution: If the root system is damaged, do not rush to plant. First, take care of the roots and wait until the root growth is stable before planting.

3. No slow seedling

Reason: After buying the gardenia, it has gone through the steps of changing the pot and soil. The plant has not yet fully adapted to the surrounding environment. If it is not directly maintained without seedling acclimatization, it will cause the plant to be burned and die.

Solution: After repotting, you can place it in a cool place to slow down the growth, ensure air circulation, and then give normal maintenance after new leaves grow out.
