How to propagate water tower flowers and precautions

Water tower flower reproduction method

The main ways to propagate water tower flower are sowing, cuttings and division. Its seeds can be propagated, and the natural way of reproduction is sowing and propagation, which relies on seed propagation, but cuttings have the fastest growth rate.

Water tower flower breeding time

The survival rate of water tower flower is high in spring, mainly because the temperature warms up and the air humidity is high at this time, the plant wakes up, begins to resume growth, and will soon sprout.

Water tower flower propagation method

Water tower flower division propagation

The water tower flower can be propagated by division, and the time should be chosen in spring. The method is also very simple. Remove the water tower flower plant from the pot, and then select some small and dense plants to divide them, then disinfect them, and after drying, they can be directly potted.

Water tower flower cutting propagation

1. Cutting time: The water tower flower can be propagated by cutting, and the best time is spring. At this time, the temperature and humidity are suitable for germination, and the cutting survival rate is high.

2. Cuttings and substrate: On the water tower flower pot, select some 8-10 cm tiller buds as cuttings. As for the cutting substrate, you can choose soil that is half leaf mold and half coarse sand.

3. Cutting method: Insert the cuttings into the prepared soil. They will take root in about 30-40 days and can be potted in 50-60 days. After that, maintain them according to the cultivation method of water tower flowers, and you will soon get a new water tower flower potted plant.

Water tower flower sowing propagation

The sowing and propagation of water tower flower is the same as other flowers. Sow the seeds of water tower flower into the soil (a mixture of river sand, perlite and peat soil, and sterilize it at high temperature before sowing). Press it lightly after sowing, and do not cover it with soil. Cover it with plastic film to keep it warm and moisturizing. At 24-26℃, it will germinate in 7-14 days, and can be transplanted after 3-4 true leaves grow.

Precautions for water tower flower propagation

Water tower flower is suitable for planting in fertile, loose, humus-rich acidic sandy loam. It is relatively drought-resistant. Do not water it excessively, just maintain basic moisture. During the growth period, you can use organic liquid fertilizer to avoid sprinkling it on the roots. It is not resistant to strong light and is suitable for maintenance in semi-shade.
