How to propagate Mimosa and what to pay attention to

Mimosa reproduction method

Mimosa has very few fibrous roots and is a taproot plant. It is generally propagated by sowing. Mimosa seeds can be reproduced, and the natural way of reproduction is seed reproduction, and seed reproduction is the fastest.

Mimosa breeding time

Mimosa is suitable for sowing in warm seasons, usually in spring or autumn. The temperature and humidity are suitable for seed germination, and it will germinate 7-12 days after sowing.

Mimosa sowing propagation method

Mimosa is suitable for breeding in spring and autumn. Soak the seeds in 35-40 degrees warm water for one day in advance. For the preparation of potting soil, you can mix leaf mold, garden soil and fine yellow sand. Add appropriate amount of culture soil to the potting soil, compact it, and then sprinkle water with a spray bottle. Wait until the soil is completely wet before sowing.

Mimosa can be sown directly in small pots, with 1-2 seeds sown in each pot, covered with 3-5 cm of soil to cover the seeds, and covered with glass or plastic film to retain moisture. Keep it in a place with diffuse light of about 20 degrees, and then water it using the immersion pot method after the soil is dry. The seeds will germinate in about 7-10 days.

Precautions for Mimosa propagation

1. Sowing: Mimosa can be sown all year round, but it is usually done in March and April. It is best to sow it in indoor pots in early spring February. It likes fertile, loose, well-drained soil. Do not let the mimosa be soaked in water.

2. Temperature: Mimosa likes a warm growing environment. The suitable growth temperature is between 20-28 degrees. If the temperature is too low, it will stop growing. If the temperature is below 10 degrees and above 28 degrees, it is best to provide certain cooling or warming measures.

3. Sunlight: Mimosa likes sunlight and needs to be kept in a place with good light during its growth period. It can be placed on a balcony or near a window to promote the growth of the plant. If there is too little sunlight, it will grow poorly and shade is needed in the summer.
