How to cultivate the evergreen tree and what to pay attention to

Growth habits of Dieffenbachia

The evergreen tree prefers high temperature, high humidity, semi-shade or shaded environment, and is tolerant to semi-shade. It avoids excessive sunlight and the light should not be too dark, otherwise it will cause the leaves to fade. The soil requires loose, fertile, well-drained sandy loam. The most suitable temperature for growth is 20-30℃, and the winter temperature should be kept between 12 and 15℃.

How to cultivate Dieffenbachia

To grow evergreen trees, you need to use sandy loam that is rich in humus and has good drainage. You need to create a semi-shaded growing environment for it and provide it with a growing environment of 15-25℃. It is best to control it at around 6℃ in winter.

During the growing period of the evergreen tree, apply thin liquid fertilizer or slow-release full-speed fertilizer once a month. Maintain high air humidity at ordinary times. The potting soil should not be too dry or have water accumulation. Change the pot every one to two years.

Watering the Evergreen Tree

Generally speaking, sufficient water supply should be maintained during the peak growth season of the evergreen tree. In the summer, the water supply must be guaranteed once or twice a day. The humidity of the surrounding space can also be increased by sprinkling water. In the winter, it is best to control water and keep it slightly dry.

Fertilizing Dieffenbachia Trees

The evergreen tree is a foliage plant, and the fertilizer applied to the leaves should be mainly nitrogen fertilizer. The leaves can be sprayed with diluted urea or a general water-soluble compound fertilizer.

Dieffenbachia Tree Pruning

During the vigorous growth period of the evergreen tree, it needs to be pruned in time, mainly by cutting off all the overgrown, overcrowded, thin, and messy branches and leaves, to ensure the transparency and light transmittance of the plant, promote its vigorous growth, and make it more beautiful.

Matters Needing Attention in the Maintenance of Evergreen Trees

During the maintenance of the evergreen tree, the soil in the pot must not be completely dry, otherwise the leaves will become scorched or even die. Once this happens, the humidity can be increased by spraying. In addition, the leaves must not be exposed to direct sunlight during the maintenance process, as strong direct sunlight will cause the leaves to turn yellow.
