How to grow chrysanthemum and precautions

Growth habits of longevity chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemum needs sufficient sunlight when growing, so that it can grow well. However, when the light is strong, it needs appropriate shade and a suitable temperature. It is best to keep it between 15-25 degrees, and the lowest temperature cannot be lower than 10 degrees.

How to grow chrysanthemum

When growing chrysanthemums, a sufficient light environment is required. When planting, sandy loam with good air permeability and good drainage is generally used. When watering, the amount of water should not be too large. Appropriate watering is enough for it to absorb and grow. In addition, it can be fertilized once every half a month during the growth period, and diluted compound fertilizer can be used.

How to water chrysanthemum

Kalanchoe does not require much water. Generally, just keep the soil moist. Too much water will cause its roots to rot. Watering it twice a week is sufficient.

Fertilizing chrysanthemum

During the period of vigorous growth of Kalanchoe, fertilization should be done more frequently, about once every half a month or so. Generally, dissolved compound fertilizer is used. Adequate nutrients can promote its abundant and bright flowering.

Marigold pruning looks good

After planting chrysanthemum, the branches and leaves should be properly pruned. Pruning the wilted branches and leaves can reduce the consumption of nutrients, ensure the beauty of the plant's appearance, and avoid infection by diseases.

Cutting propagation of Kalanchoe

Chrysanthemum cuttings are generally carried out between March and May. You need to select strong fleshy stems, cut about five centimeters, insert them into the seedbed, then sprinkle water and keep them covered with a film. It will take about twenty days for them to take root and sprout.

Precautions for the maintenance of longevity chrysanthemum

1. Leaf shedding: If the chrysanthemum does not receive enough light or does not see sunlight for a long time, its leaves will fall off and it will affect its flowering, so it needs sufficient light environment when maintaining it.

2. Root rot: When watering chrysanthemum, the amount of water should not be too large. If there is water accumulation in the pot for a long time, it will cause the roots to rot and affect the normal growth of the plant. Root rot must be dealt with immediately, the rotten roots should be removed and disinfected.
