Azalea Growth Environmental Conditions and Requirements

Azalea refers to rhododendron, which mainly grows in sparse mountain shrubs at an altitude of 500-1200 meters. It likes to grow in loose and fertile acidic soil. The growth environment is mostly cool, humid and ventilated. The most suitable growth temperature is 12-25℃, and it is suitable for growing in an environment with sufficient scattered light.

Azalea Growth Temperature

The most suitable growth temperature for azalea is 12-25℃. The plant has poor cold and heat resistance. When the temperature is higher than 35℃ or lower than 5℃, the plant is easily frostbitten.

Azalea growth humidity

Azalea plants like high humidity in the air. When the temperature is too high in summer, physical humidification methods need to be used, and the leaves of the plants should be sprayed with water appropriately to promote the healthy growth of the plants.

Azalea growing soil

Azalea likes loose, well-drained, humus-rich soil, preferably slightly acidic. It can be prepared with leaf mold, fine sand, and garden soil during daily maintenance.

Azalea growth cycle and process

Azalea sprouts in spring and can bloom three times a year. New buds will grow about one month after the plant is sown. It will not bloom until after a growing season and the second year's flowering period, which is from April to May.
